The Dancehouse: Empowering Minds, Strengthening Bodies, and Embracing Positive Expression.
The Dancehouse is a dance studio and small theatre space that is created for fine and performing artists. We provide a safe and affordable sanctuary for all skill levels, ages, and artistic endeavors. The Dancehouse, currently based in a warehouse Point Loma, was formed in 2012 out of need for more consistent and convenient rehearsal space. In June of this year, we have expanded and moved, and have begun to offering more dance classes and rental spaces to the general public. Our current classes include: hip hop, contemporary, modern dance healing, ballet, jazz, yoga, salsa, bachata, polynesian, break, and belly dance. We look forward to adding tap, and ballroom in the near future. Currently, we are home to Groove Basics, V!va Folklorico, Dancers Who Donate, Bite Dance Company, Visual Stimulus Events, Rock Church Jazz Dance for Moms Ministry, KE Casting, StyleMatix Crew, Freestyle Fridays, Catalyst Dance Ensemble, Nucleus Dance Team, Alma Latina Ladies Bachata Team, and Kruciaal Element Dance Company. We are still currently renting out space to local companies, teachers, and independent contractors; the current rates for studio rentals are $20/hour for regular renters, $25 for one time renters, $35/hour for show rentals, and $85/hour for parties.
