Downtown Nyack - Walking through History
LIMITED TO 20 GUESTS
Lee Hoffman will lead this walk which will visit sites and discuss indigenous people, early European settlers and buildings, visit the John Green House during a Saturday work party, view and discuss 2 other pre-1850 buildings still in use, view sites and discuss growth of commerce, manufacturing and population after 1850, visit 1903 Carnegie Library and WPA Post Office. View and discuss other pre 1920 structures along the way.
Visit Depew House - site of Historical Society of the Nyacks headquarters and museum.
Tour start in Memorial Park at intersection of Piermont Avenue and Hudson Street - across the street from the Depew House - 50 Piermont Avenue.
