Summer of '79 with Juliet & Jess

Join summer-of-79 singer-songwriters Juliet and Jess as they celebrate their birthdays, friendship, community, and of course MUSIC. Doors at 7, Show at 7:30, and stay tuned for details on afterparty dancing!

Juliet Strong:

Born into a community of folk artists in the SF Bay Area, Juliet has been influenced by traditional Eastern European, Balkan, and Americana music and dance. She grew up absorbing these styles in a traditional folk setting. Her songwriting also showcases her love of Bebop, Soul, Funk and R&B, fused with her folk roots. The result is a unique and infectiously uplifting musical experience.

Jess Simkovic:

Jess has been a singer, writer, and instrumentalist for decades but only recently combined the three as a sort of mid life project. With simple folk and pop inspired arrangements, Jess's lyrically driven songs are equally likely to deliver a punch in the gut as a playful turn of phrase, and always have a story to tell. Born in Chicago and moved all over the country as a kid, Jess has spent more than half her life in NY state, and is happy to call Beacon home for 14 years and counting.
