Reconstructing Religious Liberty in a Time of Religious and Secular Extremes
How can we talk about religious freedom within a politically polarized America? This conference will explore challenges to traditional narratives around religious freedom within American law and culture.
Join internationally renowned scholars and speakers for this one-day event, Friday, October 20, 2023. Hosted on the campus of Southern Adventist University, Collegedale, Tenessee.
Featured speakers and panelists include:
* David French, political and legal commentator and opinion columnist for the New York Times. * Professor Samuel Perry, award-winning scholar of conservative Christianity and American politics, and co-author of "The Flag and the Cross."
* Dr. Tobias Cremer, Junior Research Fellow, Pembroke College, University of Oxford, England, and author of "The Godless Crusade: Religion, Populism and Right-Wing Identity Politics in the West."
* Dr. Shirley Hoogstra, President, Council for Christian Colleges & Universities.
* Jason Thacker, author of "The Age of AI: Artificial Intelligence and the Future of Humanity," and director of the research institute at The Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission of the Southern Baptist Convention.
* Dr. Andrew Polk, an award-winning scholar of American religious history and author of "Faith in Freedom: Propaganda, Presidential Politics, and the Making of an American Religion."
