The Standing Nation, Remembering our Kinship with Trees
The Standing Nation is an outdoor site-specific performance by Mik Kuhlman, written by Tess Clark. With live sound by Max Sarkowsky costumes by Patricia Toovey and movement by Sally Sykes-Wylie.
Thirty years of feminine perspective infused into forestry research has radically shifted our understanding of trees and forest ecology. More social than we ever could have imagined, trees have the ability to share across species and strategize across forests. Its not survival of the fittest, its survival of the whole.
Join Mik as she brings an intimate audience of 15 into a forest to present a show for, about and with trees.
SATURDAY May 21 is an accessible performance.
Community Partners Include The Vashon-Maury Island Land Trust, The Vashon Wilderness Program, Vashon Green School, Hans Youngmann and the Vashon-Maury Landmark Trees. Mik Kuhlman Productions is powered by Shunpike.
