AHB Teaching Artist: Craig Jacobrown Hosts Free Arts Residency
Now that you have made your own mask out of cloth (or even if you havent) you can learn how to make an animal mask out of paper! Here is your chance to channel your inner spirit animal and construct a mask that you can use to give you extra powers in accomplishing your work. Participants should watch Making a Paper Owl Mask with Craig Jacobrown. https://youtu.be/U_klRxs0_DU And attend any or all (preference for those who can attend all three classes- 30 people maximum) of the next three online sessions: 1. Craig will share the story of Echo a Northwest legend, demonstrate mask dances and share the intention for all who participate to make paper animal masks. 2. All participants will have tools and materials ready create the eyes and eyebrows of an animal they are ready to construct out of tag board and hot glue together live online. 3. Participants return for one last session after they committed to and completed the paper mask of their animal as they share its final form and movement to all participants (Photos of NW animals that can be constructed and adapted- Deer, Wolf, Frog, Mouse, Raven, Owl)
A Zoom link will be sent to you by 12pm on Monday July 7.
