In 2019, we at Sierra Club Lower Hudson Group ran our usual annual Harvest Dance fundraiser, for the sixth year in a row, and it was a sellout!
COVID-19 has made our Harvest Dance impossible for 2020, so we're holding a virtual event, culminating in a raffle in which the winning ticket will be drawn by NY State Senator Pete Harckham.
As donations, please buy tickets on this website. Bear in mind:
1. For each $50 ticket you buy, you get 1 raffle ticket for the big prize, a soft, beautiful 51" X 78" alpaca throw, which retails for $275 - see picture at left. $50 gets you 1 ticket, $100 gets you 2 tickets, etc.
2. If you buy at least $75 in tickets, you get a wonderful cloth Sierra Club Lower Hudson Group tote bag.
3. Any ticket gets you a Lower Hudson Group "Recipes from the Club" booklet as a printable document.
4. You can donate pretty much any amount by purchasing multiple tickets of the same price, combined with other tickets. For example, three $10 tickets plus a $50 ticket makes a donation of $80. We'll make sure you get a tote bag, since that's over $75.
5. If you donate by August 31, you'll also receive a special Sierra Club thank you gift.
We'll email the link to the event to all ticket holders on September 10, 2020.
If the spirit moves you to supply a recipe for the "Recipes from the Club" booklet, please email it to apwg1776@gmail.com by August 31, 2020, providing:
1. Your name & town you live in
2. Your photograph or "headshot" (optional)
3. Recipe title
4. Photograph of finished recipe (optional)
5. Reminiscence or anecdote about the recipe (optional)
6. Recipe
Recipes will be included at the discretion of the Lower Hudson Group.
To make a donation via check, make it payable to "Sierra Club Lower Hudson Group" and mail to Sarah Wilson, Treasurer, Lower Hudson Group, 3478 Russell Place, Yorktown Heights, NY 10598.
Donation tickets are not tax deductible.
