Marcie Lovgren in Concert
Marcie Lovgren is a prolific fresh voiced singer songwriter,
home basing in Bozeman Montana.She weaves tales of longing, love ,and
life in her soul full vocal delivery, accompanying herself on acoustic guitar and piano.
A poignant,up front, and beautifully personal evening of songwriting.
Marcie says:
I am a singer-songwriter with deep Montana roots. I was born and raised in the snow covered mountains and dirt roads of Bozeman. I have always appreciated the simple things in life and love any sort of outdoor adventure. My strong passion for music has led me to pursue telling my stories through heartfelt and sometimes vulnerable lyrics. I wear my heart on my sleeve and there is little in life I dont sing about.
I found my love for writing music after already establishing a career in medicine along with traveling the world learning Spanish and climbing mountains. Both amazing and difficult life experiences have given me plenty to write about. I want people to know they are not alone in what they experience, both the good and the bad. I want my songs to encourage those struggling and celebrate with those in the midst of lifes greatest joys.
A lot of my songs are written for and inspired by the people closest to me. I love giving people words of encouragement and identity through my lyrics that can show them a small part of how much I care. I have plenty of songs about relationships- the good, the amazing, the hard, the wondering, the back and forth, those with happy endings and of course those with difficult endings. Other things I've written about include beautiful places Ive been, what its like to be a girl, learning how to get up when life knocks you down, the pain of losing loved ones, depression and struggle with learning to love yourself.
I grew up listening to country and Americana music which have both influenced my own unique style. Lori McKenna and Patty Griffin have had a huge impact on my development as a singer-songwriter. I love their simplicity and the less is more style to a lot of their songs. I write melodies and music to bring words to life and give people an emotionally engaging experience. I love to share the stories behind why I wrote songs and how they came to be.
I love spending my Friday nights playing at coffee shops for an intimate audience or jamming out on rhythm guitar at local breweries getting people on their feet to dance. My dog Rico never misses a song writing session and rarely leaves my side. I am currently working toward recording my first album and cant wait to share my music with the world.
