One hour south of Kansas City there exists a hotel straight out of an Old West Kansas history book. Walk in the footsteps of famous lawmen like Buffalo Bill Cody, Wild Bill Hickok, Bat Masterson and Wyatt Earp. Wander an original building straight out of Bleeding Kansas which it is said John Brown hid freed slaves.

Perhaps youll encounter the spirit of John Warren  a free African American man who murdered with an axe. He lived in the hotel and worked for D. W. Houston, the original builder of the home. Reportedly executed by hanging in front of the entire town in August of 1864, John Warren was accused of, and eventually confessed to, the violent rape and murder of a widow named Adaline Duren.

Its said that Warren returned to his room at the Garnett House Hotel and went to bed after he committed the horrifying act. Maybe he still has something to say?

Or maybe you will communicate with The Black Widow  a woman named Sarah Potter Phillips who allegedly poisoned her new husband, Leon Phillips, with arsenic just weeks after they were married.

When Leon mysteriously started to become ill, his bride insisted he prepare a will which stated Sarah would acquire half of his wealth and property.  After his death, the townspeople became suspicious and Sarah was charged with his murder.

Because there were no jails in the vicinity, Sarah was housed at the Garnett House Hotel for three months, leading a relatively normal life. But one night she disappeared, and she was indicted in absentia. However, for some reason, Sarah returned to Kansas in 1862 and she was quickly arrested again for Leons murder.

Eventually she was brought to trial, but the jury was unable to reach a unanimous verdict and the case ended in a mistrial. Sarah, who then became free on bail, fled the area and was never seen or heard from again.

Join us and seeif you dare.
