Tim Connell - Brian Rice House Concert
The Half Moon Bay House Concert series returns!!!

Tim Connell (mandolin and vocals) returns to the Bay Area - Tim played the first two house concerts here, a few years ago. He will be joined this time by East Bay percussion master Brian Rice.
This show will be an eclectic, genre-spanning performance, both instrumental and vocal. Tim and Brian have arranged classical, popular, folk, and Brazilian music, tailored to an acoustic presentation for an appreciative audience.

The event will be at a beautiful private home in Moss Beach, California. Address given with your reservation.
We will frontload the event with drinks and hors d'oeuvres, but ask that you bring a potluck style dish to share. Most of the people in attendance will be friends and neighbors, and many already know each other, so our house concerts have turned into very enjoyable social events.
After doors open, but before the show, there will be time to mingle and grab some food and drink. There will be an intermission, so you don't go hungry or thirsty.
Please join us for what is sure to be a wonderful evening of music in an intimate setting.

Tim, a multi-instrumentalist, is a graduate of the New England Conservatory of Music. Tim has created a sophisticated and original style on the mandolin. Regarded as one of the top North American interpreters of the Brazilian choro style on the mandolin, Tim has his own unique voice on the instrument, described in a Mandolin Magazine cover story as fiery and energetic, soulful and evocative. Tims latest releases include June Apple, a nationally-noted album of Bluegrass fiddle tunes with guitarist Eric Skye, and MandAlone, a collection of original solo mandolin arrangments including his popular arrangement of Here Comes the Sun.

Brian is a freelance percussionist, with a degree in Percussion Performance and Ethnomusicology from the Oberlin Conservatory of Music. A well-rounded musician, Brian is a highly acclaimed performer, educator and recording artist adept at numerous musical styles ranging from classical and jazz, to Latin, Afro-Cuban, and Brazilian, to contemporary and experimental music.
Brian currently performs with Cascada de Flores, Mike Marshall and Choro Famoso, Wake the Dead, The Berkeley Choro Ensemble, Samba Rio, Mariah Parker Indo-Latin Ensemble and Orchestrating Excellence (performing organizational development workshops for businesses).
In 2019 Brian formed the choro trio, Tres Baias with Almir Cortes and Nando Duarte. In January Tres Baias recorded its first self titled CD to be released in July 2019 at the Sound Room in Oakland.
