SynthesisDANCE creates high-energy contemporary dance theater works that connect with audiences through their accessibility, wit, musicality, and human-scale drama. Rooted in the traditions of American jazz dance, with an affinity for emotion, tone, and story, SynthesisDANCE "mesmerizes with masterful fusion of classical and contemporary forms" (HuffingtonPost UK).
XY DANCE PROJECT was established in 2016 under the direction of Nijawwon Matthews. XY DANCE PROJECT has been fortunate to perform in many theaters throughout the tristate. We strive to present works that reflect on current social issues through a unique movement style that blends contemporary dance through the spiritual rhythms of African dance, the grace and peace of Tai Chi and the heart of street dance.
Emily Bufferds Choreography has been described as visually stunning - OnStageBlog.com and technically intricate and portrayed exquisitely - Examiner.com. Emily is the Producer of The Young Choreographers Festival, and on Faculty at Steps on Broadway, Broadway Dance Center, and The Joffrey Ballet School in NYC.
BOM DIGGS became a reality in 2015, premiering their first evening length piece in Brooklyn in 2016. Artistic Director: Bonnie O'Rourke.
Celeste Lanuza Dance Theater was founded during a completion of an MFA in Choreography from University of California Irvine under the choreographic mentorship of Donald McKayle. Ms. Lanuza combines her original musical composition with a live instrumentation of Latin Jazz sounds with interdisciplinary musicians and dancers. Story telling works are important to her and in this work entitled Camino Al Alma (Journey to the Soul), the Latinx experience is represented through living in between mental and physical borders overcoming discrimination and sense of seclusion.
Zodiacs Dance is a NJ based company that consists of talented, dedicated, fearlessly passionate young artists determined to break the boundaries of movement and athleticism. ZDA presents a combination of passion, artistry, and technique.
SynthesisTOO is the apprentice company of Tracie Stanfield's SynthesisDANCE. SynthesisTOO has performed at Symphony Space, Long Island University, BAM Fisher and in Binghamton, NY.
