MORTAL EARTH: PopUp Choir welcomes back Andrew Steffen
Physical elements of the beautiful, fragile and resilient earth which we call home embodies many of our life's experiences, moods and seasons.
GROUND: Cradling of us from the time we enter the world, surrounded by its own beauty
NIGHT: The extinguishing of day that also reflects the passing of our lives
LIGHT: Showcasing our innate innocence, longing for love, search for belonging
SKY: The vast canvas above us, stretching to eternity, providing a sense of home when the sun hits the horizon just right
If we listen, we can imagine these as sonic portraits, speaking to our bodies, minds and spirits. PopUp Choir welcomes back conductor/composer Andrew Steffen, M.A. for an exploration of Mortal Earth - living, breathing, moving, as are we. All are welcome as we share inspired secular and sacred texts set movingly to music by Britten, O'Regan, Tavener, Whitacre, LaBarr and Andrew Steffen himself. Please join us at beautiful St. Paul's Church on Minneapolis' Lake of the Isles.
