The MHS Players have an exciting new musical opening this May 10th:
Carrie, the Musical.
Based on Stephen King's 1974 spine-chilling novel, Carrie: the Musical is the dark, pop-rock, coming-of-age tale of Carrietta White, a teen who suffers relentless bullying at school and suffocating abuse at home. Under the shadow of a cruel and overprotective mother, Carrie discovers and develops her telekinetic powers. These special abilities lead her to hope, acceptance, and, ultimately, an act of shocking revenge. This collaborative creation by Academy Award-winning composer Michael Gore, Academy Award-winning lyricist Dean Pitchford, and writer Lawrence D. Cohen (who adapted King's novel for the original 1976 Brian De Palma film) make a thrillingly mesmerizing live performance experience.
