Taragano Theatre presents ROADS

ROADS is an immersive dance piece that explores how much of a person's journey in life is made out of fate, of choice and of chance. The work is an intimate piece, with only up to 33 audience members in each performance, who share the space with 3 dancers.

The work draws on personal and intimate experiences of the performers, as well as Taragano Theatre's ensemble interpretation to ideas from theology, especially the Parcae: the Three Fates from Greek Mythology who are in charge of weaving person's and gods' thread of life.

Mariana Taragano is a movement artist, choreographer and theater movement director whose main interests include movement as a form of story-telling and inter-disciplinary collaborations. After working as a physical performer for almost a decade in Israel and the UK Mariana began creating work in 2012. Her work was presented in stages in England, Israel, USA and France. Mariana holds a MA in Movement Studies from the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama, was awarded a grant of Artistic Excellence by the Israeli Ministry of Immigration and her short film, No Walls, has won the Audience Choice Award in Cultural Weekly's Dare to Dance dance-film competition.

Aleixa Maria Freire is a freelance dance artist based in New York. She earned a BFA in dance from the University of the Arts. She has performed in works by Sharon Eyal, Andrea Miller/Gallim Dance, Netta Yerushalmy, Helen Simeneau, Sidra Bell, Mark Haim, and Emanuel Gat. Since moving to New York Aleixa performed with DanceAction directed by Carmen Caceres. Aleixa is currently performing in the works of Molly Kennedy, Caylee Shimizu, Taragano Theatre directed by Mariana Taragano, and MICHIYAYA Dance directed by Anya Clarke and Mitsuko Verdery. Aleixa was the recipient of the 2018 Chez Bushwick Artist in Residency (AIR) Cycle 1.

Daniela Momo is a performer and a world citizen. She was born and raised in Mexico and holds a BFA in acting from the Centro Universitario de Teatro of the National Autonomous University of Mexico. Daniela trained as a dancer in Mexico with teachers Victoria Camero (Graham), Jaime Blanc (Graham), Yocasta Gallardo (Limón and Ballet) at the Allegro Institute. She received her dance training in New York city at the Peridance Capezio Center. Daniela currently lives and works as a freelance performer in NY.

Molly Kennedy (performer/choreographer): is a University of the Arts dance graduate. Molly has performed in works by Andrea Miller/Gallim Dance, Sidra Bell, Mark Haim, Katie Swords-Thurman, Jesse Zaritt, Dafi Altabeb, Aleixa Maria, Caylee Shimizu, Inger Cooper and Javi Padilla (The Movement Playground). In 2016 she participated in Jesse Zaritt's Solo Studies where she worked with artists such as Arkadi Zaides, Maria Baumen, Jack Ferver, and Hejin Jang. Her work which has been shown at Gibney Dance, Triskelion Arts, Center for Performance Research (CPR), Green Space, Arts On Site, and the Brooklyn Studios for Dance.
