The Enchanted Island at Cathedral of Saint Luke
Schola concert: The Enchanted Island
The Enchanted Island features excerpts from Purcells masque "The Tempest, or The Enchanted Island" based on Shakespeares The Tempest, bringing to life the fate of usurping dukes tormented by fiery spirits, the commanding Prospero, the gentle spirit Ariel and the young lovers trials.
The genius of Monteverdis mastery of the madrigals will feature sublime five part madrigals, later concerted madrigals and a final the toe tapping ballo: "Tirsi e Clori."
Concert will be performed in Falmouth at Saint Marys, Portland at the Cathedral of Saint Luke, and Yarmouth at Sacred Heart Church.
Seating is first come first serve, arrive early for best seating options. Doors open 45 minutes prior to performance.
Ticket sales will end 12 hours prior to the concert, after that tickets will be available at the door, if available.
