The Museum of Tolerance invites you to _Space to Talk About Race Sunday, October 29, 2017 11:30am 5:00pm at the Museum of Tolerance
Join us in a community dialogue to promote understanding and racial justice. Participants will be guided by an experienced facilitator to examine challenging issues, share their own experiences and perspectives, and find new ways forward. This free program includes guided exhibit exploration, group activities, dialogue circle, and arts-based reflection. I learned about others experiences and saw how a lot of problems are very connected. It forced me to critically reflect upon my own experiences and beliefs. Participant in Oct. 15th Dialogue In 2014 following the unrest in Ferguson, MO, the International Coalition of Sites of Conscience launched a national initiative for museums to host dialogues on race, education, incarceration, and civil rights in their communities. The need for dialogue and change continues as we witness incidents of hate online and in our streets. As a member of this network, the Museum of Tolerance is committed to providing opportunities for courageous conversations to promote dialogue, learning, responsibility, and healing. There are many kinds of dialogue experiences. This one is a solutions-oriented space where dialogue encourages taking action. Agenda:
- 11:00- Welcome - Exhibit Tour of "We the People" - Pizza/Salad Lunch (included) - Facilitated Dialogue: Mindfulness, agreements, gallery walk, dialogue circle, commitments and gratitude - Arts based workshops: Reflection and envisioning with Self Help Graphics - Make your own Social Justice poster!
