All-Mendelssohn Program: Nicholas Kitchen, Yeesun Kim and Alex Bayer
Music for Peace presents an All-Mendelssohn Program with Nicholas Kitchen, violin and Yeesun Kim, cello  both of the Borromeo Quartet, joined by Alexander Beyer, piano.

The concert will include the Cello Sonata in D Major, Op. 58; the Piano Trio in D minor, Op. 49; and the Piano Trio in C Minor, Op. 66.

Benefits Massachusetts Peace Action Education Fund; part of the Music for Peace Series.

The audience is invited to join the musicians and Peace Action board members after the concert.

Nicholas Kitchen, Violin

Founding first violinist of the Borromeo String Quartet, Nicholas Kitchen presents upwards of 100 concerts each season at festivals, in the U.S., Canada, Europe, and Japan. A full time faculty member at the New England Conservatory of Music, he received the Arion Award for Extraordinary Contributions to Musical Culture from the Cambridge Society for Early Music in 2011. In 2003 he founded Living Archive, a company devoted to recording the unique energies of live performance.

Yeesun Kim, Cello

Yeesun Kim teaches cello at the New England Conservatory and is a member of the Borromeo String Quartet where she has played numerous concerts nationally and internationally. The Borromeo is currently Quartet-in-Residence at the New England Conservatory, Taos School of Music and the Gardner Museum. It collaborates with living composers, performing and recording music by Gunther Schuller, Steve Reich, Lera Auerbach, Derek Bermel, Osvaldo Golijov, Steve Mackey and Mohammed Fairouz.

Alex Beyer, piano

Heralded as a "sensation" with "formidable technique" by the Hartford Courant, Alex Beyer has acquired an impressive array of prestigious concert appearances nationally and internationally. He has been a guest soloist with the Milwaukee, Charlotte, Hartford, New Haven, Waterbury, and Bridgeport Symphony Orches- tras, among others. First prize awards came in the Renee Fischer Competition and MTNA State and Regional Competitions. He was a finalist in the 2012 Gina Bachauer International Competition, a 2011 MTNA national finalist and prizewin- ner in the 2010 PianoArts Competition.
