Biloxi Blues
Biloxi Blues is Neil Simon's captivating sequel to Brighton Beach Memoirs. The play follows Euguene Jerome, a 20-year old from Brooklyn who is drafted during the waning days of World War II and sent to Biloxi, Mississippi for basic training. There he meets a diverse assortment of fellow soldiers struggling with the demands of army life and the whims of a mentally unstable drill sergeant. Eugene keeps a detailed memoir of his experiences while he learns about army food, authority, sex, bigotry, and love. In the process he discovers that life can be both ugly and tender.
Biloxi Blues runs in the Dulcie Theatre from July 17 through August 9, playing Fridays and Saturdays at 8 pm, with Sunday matinees at 3 pm. Tickets to all shows are $16 for adults, $13 for seniors and college students, and $10 for youth 17 and under, and are available by calling the box office at (406) 222-1420.
