For their latest project, Marah members David Bielanko and Christine Smith built an analog recording studio in a church in Millheim, PA and recruited local musicians, including 8 year old wunderkind Gus Tritsch on fiddle (Gus is now 11) to make an album based on folklorist Henry Shoemaker's book "Mountain Minstrelsy of Pennsylvania," a collection of 100+ year old lyrics and fragments. "Marah Presents Mountain Minstrelsy of Pennsylvania" was released on 2/25/14 to critical acclaim. It has also grown into a killer live show, and this year's highlights include Azkena Rock Festival in Spain, WXPN's XPoNential Music Fest in Philly, WTMD Baltimore's First Thursday Concert Series, and they're off to play Americanafest in Nashville this September.
