Disney's The Jungle Book Kids

Rounding out the Newington Children's Theatre Company's 2014 Summer Theatre Arts Program is the classic Disney's THE JUNGLE BOOK KIDS, August 8-10. Specially adapted from the classic film, the jungle is jumpin' with jazz, including all your favorite Disney tunes, like "The Bare Necessities," and "I Wan'na Be Like You."

On the run from Shere Khan, a ferocious tiger who has banished him from the jungle, a human boy named Mowgli is aided by an agile panther named Bagheera. Along the way, the two meet a sinister snake named Kaa, a herd of elephants, and a giant bear named Baloo, who teaches them the swingin' musical rhythms of the jungle. After surviving a dangerous encounter with a band of monkeys led by King Louie, Mowgli and Bagheera are forced to run for their lives. Shere Khan returns, leading our protagonists to rally their fellow jungle creatures into battle and restore peace to the jungle.

Performances are Friday and Saturday at 7pm and Saturday and Sunday at 2pm. Tickets are $12 for adults ($15 at the door) and $10 for seniors, students and children ($12 at the door). Performances will take place that the NCTC Performing Arts Theatre located at 743 North Mountain Road in Newington.
