Slow Food Seattle Summer Picnic Potluck & Honey Tasting
It's time for Slow Food Seattle's summer picnic potluck. Bring a dish and join us at Ravenna Park for a picnic lunch. Our potlucks are consistently delicious and always a fun way to connect with your fellow food lovers. Meet new folks or chat again with those you might have met at some of our other events this year (tuna canning, edible plant walk, Kurtwood Farm visit...).

MAP OF PICNIC SITE

Ticket price (to help offset cost of reserved picnic area):
  • $5/individual

  • $10 for groups of 3 or more

  • Children under 15 are free
Looking for inspiration for a dish? We'd love to hear your Slow Food Story! Slow Food Stories is a current Slow Food USA project to collect the history behind the food we love. Is there a dish that has history for you, your culture, your family? Come share your dish and your story! (No particular story to share? That's okay, just make a favorite picnic dish, we'll be happy to share it!)

As a bonus, we'll have a honey tasting featuring several honeys from throughout the Western USA. Compare desert wildflower honey to Pacific NW wildflower honey. What does honey from Malibu taste like? Taste single varietals like saguaro or orange blossom.

After you register, a Slow Food Seattle board member will reach out within a few days to see what dish you might be thinking about bringing (so that we don't end up with 15 cobblers, as tasty as that might sound) and to let you know approximate # of people at the picnic so you can plan servings.

Please plan to bring the following:
  • Your dish

  • List of ingredients (or, if you're willing to share the recipe, printouts of the recipe for interested people to take)

  • Eating utensil, plate, cup, napkin and beverage

  • Any non-perishable donations you might have for Northwest Harvest
