Three bands hit the Lizard tonight, each offering their own unique take on rock music. Nate Leavitt, long known for his fierce guitar work with bands like Parlour Bells and Old Jack starts the night off with his introspective songwriting and excellent musicianship. Aloud then takes over. A four piece indie rock band that The Boston Phoenix nominated for "Best Indie/Powerpop Act" in 2012. In the same year, the Deli Magazine listed Aloud as one of the "Best Emerging Bands" And finally Sarah Rabdau and the Self Employed Assassins finish out the night with their hard to categorize art rock and pop sound. All in all a not-to-be-missed night at The Lizard Lounge!

Nate has been performing in the Boston music scene for a little over twenty years. While most of that time was spent with the Supercharged Soul band The Blizzard of 78, one of the city's most revered guitarists now makes his time as a solo artist as well as with the bands Parlour Bells (nominated for Video of the Year by the Boston Music Awards 2013) and Oldjack (nominated for Best Live Act by the Boston Music Awards 2011). Nate and his various bands have played hundreds of shows throughout the New England area, have toured the country and opened for Coldplay, Snow Patrol, Lissie, Ronnie Spector, Guster, The Sheila Divine, Gentleman Hall and more. This past March, Nate played SXSW with his solo band and Oldjack. Nate is also Producing two new releases from Parlour Bells and Magen Tracy.
ALOUD
Aloud is a four-piece rock n' roll band from Boston, Massachusetts. The band is co-fronted by Henry Beguiristain (lead vocals/guitars) and Jen de la Osa (lead vocals/guitars), with Frank Hegyi (drums/percussion), and Charles Murphy (bass/backing vocal).
Founded in a small one-bedroom republic in Boston's Fenway area by de la Osa and Beguiristain, Aloud has gone on to independently release three albums and crisscross the U.S. In 2010, Aloud embarked on a massive coast-to-coast tour in support of their third album, the critically acclaimed Exile. The band performed close to 100 shows in their four months on the road. The Boston Phoenix nominated Aloud for "Best Indie/Powerpop Act" in 2012. In the same year, the Deli Magazine listed Aloud as one of the "Best Emerging Bands" in their SXSW issue. Aloud released their fourth album, It's Got to Be Now, April 1st on Mother West Records.

Sarah Rabdau's songs can make topics such as lecherous fathers and emotionally conflicted assassins seem universal, and everyday heartbreak and longing seem unique and rare. While unapologetically claiming all the usual suspects of girl-at-piano influences, Sarah has crafted a sound that seamlessly bridges the pop and art rock scenes. Her steadily growing following has seen her share bills with the likes of Shivaree, HUMANWINE and Adam Glasseye.
Joined by bipolar drummer Matt Graber (Me and Joan Collins, Mascara), the duo's live sound somehow evokes Tom Waits, Erik Satie and Nina Simone. With a voice that ranges from icy whispers to stentorian rage, Sarah's singing has been compared to that of Bjork and the Cocteau Twins Elizabeth Fraser.
