Rough Francis
The story of Rough Francis starts in Detroit, Michigan in the early 70's. Three African American brothers Dannis, David, and Bobby Hackney play in a funk band called Rock Fire Funk Express. The brothers quickly abandon funk and switch to rock and roll after seeing Alice Cooper at the Cobo Arena. The newly inspired Hackney brothers start playing quick-tempo, high-velocity rock and name themselves DEATH. Heavily influenced by the MC5, the Stooges and the Who, Death unknowingly channel the true essence and attitude of punk before punk was punk. Fellow Detroit native Jack White sums it up best, "Ahead of punk, ahead of their time." The band goes into obscurity until
30 years later, the sons of Bobby Sr; Julian, Urian, and Bobby Hackney Jr., discover the original Death recordings in their parent's attic. Already well steeped in the hardcore and punk scene, the young Hackneys are blown away by the raw power of their father and uncle's music . The three sons along with friends Steve and Paul create a tribute band to Death called Rough Francis.
Rough Francis started out covering songs from Death's unearthed album "For the Whole World to See". After a few shows, they began to write their own music. Although the loud screams, wild stage antics and maximum volume of Rough Francis echoes Death, they have also crystalized a unique sound of their own. Fueled by 70's proto-punk, Motown, the British Invasion and 80's hardcore, Rough Francis continue to prove themselves as an overwhelmingly powerful force onstage. They have the ability to put all types of audiences in a chaotic frenzy and tame the snobbiest music critics. You dig?
Rough Francis has been featured in the New York Times, Spin.com and Brooklyn Vegan. They have also shared stages with Mos Def, OFF!, Agent Orange, Death, the Jon Spencer Blues Explosion, Fishbone, the Dictators and many others.

Spencer Moody
As the lead singer of The Murder City Devils, Spencer Moody helped to define a new branch of noisy punk rock. The Murder City Devils were formed in 1996 out of the remains of Area 51, the Death Wish Kids, and the Hookers.
Born and raised in the suburbs of Seattle, Spencer grew up in the all ages music scene of the early 90's. Attending shows in the basements, backyards, YMCA's, teen centers, public parks, and eventually the Velvet Elvis Theater. Commiserating, cohabiting, and touring with bands like Botch, Modest Mouse, Mukilteo Fairies, and At The Drive In.
Spencer has made records with Area 51, The Hookers, Murder City Devils, Triumph Of Lethargy Skinned Alive To Death, Dead Low Tide, Smoke and Smoke, And The John and Spencer Booze Explosion, .
In 2012 Spencer and his wife Germaine "Coco" Howard were invited to Washington State University to show work and lecture as part of there visiting artist program.
Spencer lives with his Wife Coco and dog Frank in Los Angeles. He currently works as a coffee roaster, visual artist, poet, and musician.
Grand Tarantula
In 2010, after a stint in Tape Deck Mountain and a tour with Ken Andrews, Jordan Clark founded Grand Tarantula. That same year the band released it's debut single I'm Not Gonna Let You Go 7" with artwork created by Kelsey Brookes. The single saw heavy rotation on the San Diego air waves which led to national opening slots for Grouplove, The Royalty, and Middle Class Rut. This single was followed up by the five song Grand Tarantula EP in 2012.
In early 2013, Clark was experiencing a bout of writers block opted to join Swami Records' Mrs. Magician, deciding it was better to focus on touring with them rather than enduring continued creative frustration. After Mrs. Magician dissolved in late 2013, Clark was well prepared with new material for Grand Tarantula and hit the studio with Mrs. Magician guitarist Thomas Garcia.
Grand Tarantula will release it's debut EP on Riot House in September 2014.
