Great Decisions 2014 - Part 2
The Great Decisions course encourages debate and discussion of the important global issues of our time, using study materials from the Foreign Policy Association (independent and non-partisan) to help reach informed opinions.
This is a very participatory class: each week a class participant(s) will lead the class in a discussion of the selected topic from the Briefing Book.
This Great Decisions course will cover four of the topics from the 2014 Great Decisions Briefing Book: Israel and the US; Islamic awakening; Food and climate; and China's foreign policy. The session on China's foreign policy will be led by Kevin Rice, who has advanced degrees in National Security Affairs & Strategy with a focus on East Asian History and Politics. Kevin has lived and worked in China and speaks Chinese Mandarin.
To fully participate in this course, each participant must obtain their own Great Decisions 2014 Briefing Book from the Foreign Policy Association. The book costs $20, plus shipping, at the Foreign Policy Association website. The Foreign Policy Association seems to ship very quickly, but it would be a good idea to order the book(s) as soon as you register for the course.
Note: If you took the last Great Decisions course offered by LLCC in early 2014, you should already have the 2014 Briefing Book. If you have already purchased this book, it is not necessary to obtain another copy.
While Great Decisions 2014 Part 2 may be viewed as a continuation of the last Great Decisions course, it is an independent stand alone course.
Whether or not you attended the last Great Decisions course, you must register for this course in order to be enrolled this course
Registering for this course by buying a ticket will admit you to all four sessions of this course:
