Reared on gospel, schooled in Latin rhythms, and with an enduring love for Monk & Bach, Kevin Harris is an exciting pianist and composer. No less an authority than Fred Hersch says,"Kevin Harris plays and writes with flair and real soul." He's a fixture in New York clubs, and his touring in recent months has taken him to such places as Lima and Shanghai.

I'm thrilled to welcome him to The Green Room with drummer Steve Langone, a mainstay of the area scene for more than 20 years whose "understated, multi-faceted, driving approach to percussion, tinted a bit with some Latin rhythms" (Dan McClenaghan, AllAboutJazz.com) has earned him an incredible resume and reputation. There's a special energy in a duo, and I can't wait to hear this one.
