El Circo Cheapo Cabaret Rides Again!
Yes, that's right. It's "free".
Why do you need to give us $10, then, you ask.
Well, you see, we have a small house and limited seating. We don't want people to be lined up around the block, so you have to RSVP. But we don't want people to RSVP and not show up, so you have to give us a $10 deposit. Then, when you show up, we will give you back your $10! I swear we will give it back.
Why do you keep putting "free" in quotes? Hmmmm...I dunno...
BUT ENOUGH ABOUT THE AMAZING PRICE! Let me tell you about the amazing show. Aloft is welcoming interested circus artists from all over to come share our stage. The main purpose of this show us purely one of self-interest. You see, good performance footage of a circus act is awfully hard to come by, so by having a cheap show we can get a fun supportive audience in to clap and cheer as we film our acts to use for promoting ourselves to agents and clients. You never know what you'll get at the cabaret...you might see 5 silks acts from 5 different companies, or you might see a 6-year-old Russian trapeze artist, or an inner-city juggling superstar from the Chicago Youth Circus, or someone trying their act in front of an audience for the first time and asking for feedback, or someone who has done their act so many times they're going to try it blindfolded this time.
