Unwilling to back down from a challenge, Martha and her wife head out on a "fun date" - what could be more fun than an airplane hanger full of trampolines? And why isn't Martha wearing any pants?

A few months after having arrived to San Francisco, my voice started to break. The youngest in my family, I went from a sweet sounding child speaking Vietnamese to a craggy sounding teenager speaking broken English. "You sound like a hungry duck," my older brother would say every time I opened my mouth and everyone laughed. Then he said, "Mom and dad told you not to speak so much English in the house and you disobeyed, that's why you shattered your vocal chord." I knew nothing about the birds and the bees. So i believed him. I was duped for what seemed like a long, long time, until a friend explained to me in explicit term what was happening to me.

When she found that her skirts had transformed into a collection of brightly hued waist tourniquets and that she could not simultaneously maintain a conversation and walk up a hill, she knew. It was time, yet again, to try to embrace some kind of exercise. This time, though, it would be different. This time, it would be fun! After all, what could be less intimidating for the exercise novice than a hula hooping class? If you're good at something when you're eight, you're good at it forever, right? Clearly, her fitness woes were over good. Or at least for the five minutes it took to enroll.

With the $$$ from her first teaching job, and a crush on the bell-bottomed science teacher, Kay was an unstoppable force. But unable to crack the faculty social circle, even with her white go-go boots and faux-afro, she mentally sank into a frozen hellhole - UNTIL the annual Christmas Snowmobile Beer & Bait party.

THE VENT STORYTELLING SERIES at STAGE WERX THEATRE:
Where true stories are told by superb comedians, acclaimed writers and "ordinary" people with extraordinary stories who do just that. They vent. Though mostly it's the funny kind of venting. The series occurs on the third Sunday of every month in a theater that contains just 70 seats. Seventy very comfortable theater seats on banked rows. The storytellers do not use notes or scripts or even microphones. This series attracts the best storytellers in town. As well as the most enthusiastic and responsive audiences.
