00 pm - Gates open
30 - 5:30 pm - School of Rock Portland For over 15 years, School of Rock has been teaching kids and adults to play music through unique performance-based programs. The School of Rock Portland school opened in 2006, and has performed over a 100 shows often joined by local bands such as The Thermals, Red Fang, Portugal. The Man, The Decemberists, Blitzen Trapper, and many more.
00 - 6:45 pm - McDougall With his imagination often dwelling in the very real places of his past and present, as well as in the possible future, McDougall's songs may very well seat you by a coffee-can fire in the middle of a dry California river-bed, pull you up onto a freight train in the lush spring-time of the Pacific northwest, raise your voice in hymns with the entire family on a Thanksgiving afternoon, or haste your good-bye to civilization as you know it, as you ramble on with all you possess on your back. Fact, fiction, and a little in between, McDougall carries on the relevant tradition of oral history and folklore, making it a part of everyday life and sharing it with those around him. Inspired by the word of God, his family, friends, fellow workers and fellow travelers met along the way, McDougall wishes to keep to the unwritten rule of using what was left by those before while leaving something of your own for those who will come after.
00 - 8:00 pm - Water Tower After 5 years on the road, 4 albums under their belt and multiple international tours, Water Tower have been brewing up a storm in the folk music world. The boys have collaborated live with members of bands like Frank Turner, Kitty Daisy and Lewis, the Red Stick Ramblers, and the Foghorn Stringband and shared the stage with acts like Old Crow Medicine Show, Mumford and Sons, Wilco, Pokey LaFarge and the South City Three, and Woody Pines. They have toured extensively in both the USA and abroad, and performed live on the BBC, NPR, and RTE. Their all original sound is infectious and has spread far and wide to audiences of all ages and walks of life. Based in Portland, Oregon these young gents got their start busking on street corners playing traditional old time and bluegrass, eventually honing their sound as a solid dance band playing square dances and bluegrass festivals up and down the west coast. Check them out their music video for "Meet Me Where the Crow Don't Fly"
30 - 10:00 pm - The Builders and the Butchers Over the nine year history of The Builders and the Butchers from their beginnings playing on rainy Portland, OR, streets for random passersby, to the early unplugged Mississippi Pizza and Valentines' shows, to years of endless touring the band has lived and died for its connection with the audience. Whether playing bar gigs for 50 people or opening arena shows for 3000, the band strives to connect with the audience, and for the audience to connect with one another, every time they take the stage. It's that beyond anything else that keeps the Builders going. Check out their performance from Live Wire Radio
