Poets Liberation Front
What is non-violence and who does it serve? Which women are allowed to be armed and still be considered worthy of life? What of writers who are considered dangerous, or more importantly, how can a writer be dangerous? Proving our goodness has never overcome evil. Does insisting on our innocence distract from the goals of liberation, reinforcing the reliance upon power centres? A shrinking we do so that our kind may be accepted by those who unironically enact the most well-funded campaigns of extreme violence on earth.
This will be a timely and urgent conversation on how we narrate against the logic of goodness. How we challenge the imposed vulnerabilities of non-violence? How grassroots poetry carves out autonomous spaces for political thought; defying codes of conduct to assert dignity, safety and self-respect.
For the September installation of the Poets Liberation Front literary salon, luxx will be joined by two comrades, the legendary Fran Lock and the iconic Liv Wynter.

Fran Lock is a some-time itinerant dog whisperer, the author of seven poetry collections and of numerous chapbooks, most recently Contains Mild Peril (Out-Spoken Press, 2019). Fran has recently completed her Ph.D. at Birkbeck College, University of London, titled, "Impossible Telling and the Epistolary Form: Contemporary Poetry, Mourning and Trauma". She is an Associate Editor at Culture Matters and she currently teaches at Poetry School.
Liv Wynter is a trans and working class organiser, writer, and performer who recently released their solo ep VIOLENCE. They are the host and curator of anarchist cabaret and community project How To Catch A Pig, and are the curator and editor of its community newspaper The Pig Catcher. They are the bar manager and co-programmer at The Piehouse Workers Co-op, a recently saved Deptford based venue.
Alongside their creative work they have organised for 10+ years in a feminist direct action group, and worked in the UKs only LGBTIQ+ domestic violence refuge. They are part of the core organising team for Bands Boycott Barclays, a campaign to stop the music industry whitewashing genocidal investments made by Barclays bank, and who successfully removed Barclays from all UK festivals in 2024.
Liv uses creative practice to politically engage and inspire within their community and has written 2 sell out plays, a poetry collection, and a lot of angry emails. Liv stands in solidarity with Palestine, and with all groups organising against oppression.
