with special guests BAT RADAR https://bat-radar.bandcamp.com/album/demoted and FUZZNAUT https://fuzznaut.bandcamp.com/
"Weitz, aka Animal Collective's 'Geologist', named the band in homage to Krautrock band Xhol Caravan and their 1972 album 'Motherfuckers GmbH and Co.' but don't let that arcane reference scare you. Released in June, their debut album 'Music Excitement Action Beauty' - a swirling head trip incorporating elements of prog rock, surf music and experimental drones - is highly accessible with dense grooves that play well to Can fans and jam-band stylings which should appeal to broad-minded Deadheads." -Washington City Paper
"This is not a band that stinks of strategy. They seem more interested in sending cosmic vibrations into the universe than shockwaves into the industry...Team JMB hails from the DMV, the metro area at the center of D.C., Baltimore and Richmond. Brian Weitz, the Animal Collective member known as 'Geologist', plays hurdy-gurdy. Jim Thomson is best known for his tenure in the cartoonishly costumed metal band GWAR under the pseudonyms Hans Sphincter and Hans Orifice. Marc Minsker does not have a well-known alter ego, but he's cousins with Evan Minsker, a punk rock journalist who used to write for Pitchfork. So JMB is Jim, Marc and Brian, with the 'Co.' being a nod to the community of musicians swirling around the band that undoubtedly informed the album's creation." -Stereogum
