Using the framework of a single, extended, expansive and interrupted meditation, "when they say you can't go home again, what they mean is you were never there" is a porous engagement between audience and performers.

You are free to arrive and depart at any time during the four-hour event, and determine your level of interactivity and immersion in the project while in the shared space.

The engagement incorporates poetry, digital projection, construction, visualization, and guided contemplation to facilitate a shared experience.

On August 16, between 3 and 6 p.m., you are invited to an open session as we play, practice, build, invent and rehearse and re-invent.

On August 23, between 3 and 7 p.m., you are invited to the grand experiment itself.

* About the artists:

Marty McConnell is the author of "wine for a shotgun," (October 2012, EM Press,) as well as a one-woman show, "vicebox," which debuted at the New Jersey Repertory Theater in 2011. She is the 2012 National Underground Poetry Individual Competition (NUPIC) Champion, has competed in seven National Poetry Slams on teams representing Chicago and New York City, and appeared on two seasons of HBO's Def Poetry Jam. Her work is widely published in journals and anthologies. An MFA graduate of Sarah Lawrence College, she has received grants from Chicago's Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events, Links Hall, and the Illinois State Arts Council.

Lindsey Dorr-Niro is a cross-disciplinary visual artist, arts educator, and Indo-Tibetan Buddhist scholar/teacher whose work explores the intersection between received and transmitted communication, as well as the juncture and disjuncture of spirituality and self. After completing her MFA in Painting at Yale University in 2008, Lindsey moved to New York City where she began advanced studies in Indo-Tibetan yoga and meditation. There she completed her 300-hour teacher training through the Yoga Studies Institute, which emphasizes the philosophical, psychological, and meditative practices of yoga.
