Whale Trail Spring Gathering: Celebrating Lynne Barre
Join us to welcome a new season on The Whale Trail, and celebrate the career and contributions of Lynne Barre, recently retired from NOAA's Office of Protected Resources. Hear updates about southern resident orcas from researchers Mark Sears and Maya Sears.
Lynne Barre first came to Seattle in 2002 on a temporary assignment to assist in the rescue of Springer the orphaned orcas. Following Springer's successful release, Lynne went on to play a leadership role in recovering the endangered southern resident orcas and other endangered species, and supported the work of many local nonprofits, including The Whale Trail.
Researchers Mark Sears and Maya Sears will present updates about southern resident orcas since our last meeting in December - including the birth of two new calves, bringing the total of calves under six years old to 11!
Join us for a new season of hope and determination on The Whale Trail.
Doors open at 6:30. Program starts at 7 PM.
Attendance is limited. Advance tickets highly recommended.
