"Daughter's Daughter"
Directed by Xi Huang, this 2024 Taiwanese family drama explores the delicate and complex bonds between mothers and daughters. Legendary actress Sylvia Chang plays a recently retired mother who, after the sudden passing of her daughter (played by Eugenie Liu), is faced with the difficult decision of what to do with the frozen embryo her daughter left behind.
The film is a moving exploration of motherhood, love, and loss. It premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival and has received heartfelt praise from both audiences and critics.
