Participants will learn the basics of flower arranging in the Sogetsu style of Ikebana, whose motto is "Anytime, anywhere, by anyone." Using a variety of containers and materials, we'll learn the basic ratios of arranging to make them beautiful every time, as well as some techniques to make flower arrangements last longer.
WHAT TO BRING (OPTIONAL): Bring your favorite flowers from your own garden or a special container from home to arrange with.
ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR: Chris Erickson is the head of Peregrine School, and has been its garden manager for over ten years. He comes from a long line of grumpy Swedish-American nurserymen. He has studied bonsai and Japanese styles of flower arranging since childhood.
