Gallery Suite Jazz Series - May

Welcome to Season II of the Gallery Suite Jazz Series!

Experience a unique, intimate music showcase in a hip, urban, raw studio space hosted by International saxophonist and recording artist Phil Denny. You and your guest(s) can expect the finest level of artistry from musical talents from around the state, bordering states and Canada with an emphasis on diversion though pure musical entertainment. With a limited seating capacity, those present will feel as though the music is being performed just for them. Open wood ceilings, hardwood floors and exposed brick walls create the ideal backdrop for a night of lively entertainment.

This month's featured artist is Detroit based jazz trumpeter Rayse Biggs. Trumpeter Extraordinaire, Rayse Biggs' sound is described as "lots of rich tones and a mellow vibe "(Detroit News) that comes through whether he is playing one trumpet or two at a time!
Having been mentored by Freddie Hubbard, Donald Byrd and Marcus Belgrave while listening to Charlie Parker and Lee Morgan, Rayse learned to command the instrument. His fingerings are profound and his range astounding. Learn more about Rayse at http://www.raysebiggs.com.

The gallery suite doors will open at 7:00pm. Guests are welcome and encouraged to stroll the gallery prior to the show to view the artwork, decorative textures, custom finishes, exclusive furniture and more.

The music showcase will begin promptly at 8:00pm. Estimated showtime is 90-100 minutes.

The Knight Cap restaurant will be on sight offering small plate options (cash only) for those who choose to indulge. Menu to be determined. Also, following the performance is a proper hang at The Exchange (balcony level) just doors down from the gallery.

Entry to the gallery suite is located in the back of the gallery (south) just off Museum Drive. THE GSJS IS AN OPEN SEATING FORMAT. Parties of four however, will be assigned a table. If your group is larger than four seats, we will do our best to ensure your tables are near to each other.
