'In Mind and Soul' - Our October Concert
Join Thalia Symphony for our 2024-25 season, which is themed '(re-)imagine.' We will be exploring both old and new: especially new pieces that take older pieces for inspiration, and old pieces that we hope to approach with fresh ears.
Our Sunday Oct 20, 2:00pm concert is resplendent with gems. Respighis The Birds re-works music from the 17th and 18th centuries. Bonis Three Legendary Women is a modern take on Cleopatra, Salome and Ophelia. Mozarts Overture to The Magic Flute is among operas most imaginative. And we are especially excited to perform Stills brilliant and ground-breaking Afro American Symphony- premiered in the 1930s and revived in recent years.
