Originally from Kansas City, Missouri, rapper JL B. Hood, whose real name is Jason Varnes, began his musical journey as a key member of B. Hood (Brotherhood) alongside his brothers. His 2011 debut mixtape, "Just Landed," quickly garnered local acclaim and drew the attention of renowned rap figures. Early in his career, JL was featured on Tech N9ne's 2011 hit "Worldwide Choppers," showcasing his skill alongside rap giants such as Tech N9ne and others. He continued to build momentum with releases like the "Adderall" mixtape and his first solo album, "Brain Scatter," in 2013. He supported major acts on tour and also headlined his own shows. His discography expanded with "Brain Scatter 2" in 2014 and "Symptoms" in 2015. JL's rising profile led to a record deal, culminating in the 2017 release of "Tech N9ne Presents Dibkis" on Strange Music, featuring numerous guest artists and solidifying his status in the rap community
