In the year 2064, an evil dictator named Hammerhead has made a proclamation that all Americans must fit into his 'Leave it to Beaver'-inspired notion of the 'Perfect Family'. However, the members of the Goldstein-Fitzgerald-Mogolson-Berry-Chavez-Chan-Piccolo clan strongly disagree with Hammerhead's dictate. Adventure ensues after the matriarch of the family tells her grandchildren tales of their familial history. Soon after, they travel back in time, meeting their ancestors, and learning what comprises the *truly* perfect American family.
