Ruth King Zoom Concert and Open Mic
Zoom Concert for Women in the Arts/National Women's Music Festival Members

We will start with a song by Jori Costello followed by a 30-minute concert with Rachael Sage which will be followed by 60 minute Open Mic led by Jori Costello.

RUTH KING is an American musician, performing artist, and writer of songs and books. Her debut album, Attache, was released in the mid 1990s and her single, Back to Start received accolades with radio airplay. Ruths next three records found her career increasing in visibility.
Studies at FSU School of Music instructed her in classical voice training and song composition. Returning to south Florida, Ruth got her start as a live performance artist entertaining in West Palm Beach, Fort Lauderdale, Miami, and Key West. Her School of Music years gave way to practical application in production as Ruth wrote musical parts for strings, brass, and the bassoon on her latest CD, HOME. HOME is now featured worldwide on popular music streaming platforms.
The music of blues recording artist Ruth King is original and heartfelt. Her original vibe is described as Acoustic Blues. The show draws on the eclectic shades of her musical origins and reaches into the soul of true folk, soul, jazz, rock, and blues enthusiasts
Born to Dot Records rhythm and blues recording artists from Washington, D.C. in the late 50s, Ruth was surrounded by the live original music of her parents. Music which inspired Ruths early years of self-taught guitar playing, singing, and songwriting. In later childhood years, Ruths step-dad, an outstanding jazz drummer, filled their home with the musical genres of jazz and swing music.
Having performed for many at the House of Blues, on concert stages, college circuits, and for music festival audiences nationwide, 2023 finds Ruth singing songs and presenting programs on the topics which match the release of her long-awaited memoir, RUTH. Ruth brings hope, healing, and a unique rhythm to our World today through her life, writings, and music.
