Cascade Gardener Presents Lisa Taylor!
Resilient Food Gardens, Growing with Wildlife
Growing vegetables and fruit is fun until the rabbits, deer, slugs and snails invite themselves to feast. Join Lisa Taylor, garden educator and author of the Maritime Northwest Garden Guide and Your Farm in the City; An Urban Dwellers Guide to Growing Food and Raising Animals for a lively discussion about growing food gardens with wildlife in mind. Well talk about annual and perennial edible plants that are treasured by people and our woodland neighbors. Well explore growing vegetables vertically, in containers and in raised beds to maximize your food production and pest protection. We will discuss gardening practices that benefit wildlife while keeping them out of the vegetables so that gardeners and wildlife can live more harmoniously.
