Jumptown Big Band Fall Swing Dance

Jumptown Big Band presents our annual "Fall Swing Dance" Saturday October 7, 2023 at the Multnomah Arts Center Auditorium. This venue has a large dance floor and plenty of parking. Beginner dance lesson starts at 7:00pm with live music from 7:30pm to 10:00pm. Doors open at 6:30pm. A half-hour beginner dance lesson will be provided by professional dance instructor Mindy Barnhart of Stumptown Dance to allow new swing dancers the opportunity to learn some steps and perhaps provide seasoned dancers with a brush up on the basics. Portland's leading big band singer Claudia Knauer will be performing some exciting vocal arrangements. And this year we have an added attraction. The Newport Nightingales, the Portland area's top swing dance vocal trio, will be performing a variety of Andrews Sisters and Boswell Sisters big band arrangements with us.
