HALF SOUR, Directors: Sean McGing, Mary Anne Rothberg
At 22, John Till moved to New York with few hopes and grim prospects. Without a college degree or any savings, yet undaunted by the post-crash economy, the self-taught entrepreneur created a pickle business. One by one, he reached out to his struggling childhood friends to involve them in the enterprise, throwing virtual lifelines. In their early twenties, they shared a home, a love of skateboarding, and the drive to 'make it' in the Big Apple.
