Le Vent du Nord (literally, "wind from the north") has blown us away before, and we're thrilled to have them again! Don't miss it!

Learn about the mesmerizing and spirited music of Quebec -- its instruments, influences and history. Le Vent du Nord is dedicated to preserving and sharing the musical heritage of francophone (French-speaking) Canada. All four of the band's musicians come from musical families. They all sing and have mastered such instruments as guitar, mandolin, fiddle, piano, accordion, acoustic bass, hurdy-gurdy and foot-tapping board. During the program they will demonstrate their instruments, answer questions and give the audience a taste of their repertoire.

Some of the songs they perform arrived on American shores with early French settlers, and date back more than 400 years. Their repertoire comes from Quebec and Acadia (the name given to certain areas along the northeastern coast of America). Le Vent du Nord is considered one of the foremost guardians of the French Canadian musical tradition.
