Star of Wonder
Join us this holiday season for three pieces by contemporary composers: British composer Bob Chilcott's Christmas Oratorio, which combines words from the gospels of Luke and Matthew with a selection of sixteenth- to nineteenth-century poetry; American composer Gwyneth Walker's "Alpha and Omega," which she based on three traditional Christmas carols with the intent of breathing new, fresh life into the beloved hymns; and Latvian composer riks Eenvalds's "Trinity Te Deum," a a reimagining of the Anglican tradition of ceremonial music for a grand occasion originally commissioned for the Installation of Sir Gregory Winter as Master of Trinity College, Cambridge. We also anticipate performing one or two audience sing-along carols at the concert.
Ryan Tibbetts will conduct the singers and orchestra, and nationally-renowned organist Daniel Stipe will accompany and perform.
