Frankenstein
The story of Frankenstein examines the human condition through the title character's creation of a nameless monster. When Victor Frankenstein first brought this creature to life, he believed he was adding to a glorious body of scientific knowledge. Frankenstein soon realized that the price of this wisdom was torture, as he quickly loathed and feared his living creation. As the monster himself gains knowledge and insight, he vows revenge against the man who caused him to live, while the audience questions where their own sympathies lie.
