Women's Work is a live acoustic concert presented by 14 member string ensemble Sphere Ensemble (violins, violas, cellos, and bass). This concert program will focus on the extensive variety of works composed by women that are often overlooked in programming classical music. From Sphere arrangements of Lizzo, Bjork, Lady Gaga, and turn of the 20th century Brazilian popular music songs of Chiquinha Gonzaga, to exciting classical masterworks by Polish composer Grazyna Bacewics and rarely performed Scottish composer Grace Williams, to a thrilling work by living Armenian composer Geghuni Chitchyan. This program shows the astonishing and provocative breadth of the works of women composers.
