Mozart: Vesperae solennes de confessore
This concert begins our 78th season where we officially welcome Dr. Yoojin Muhn as Music Director of the San Antonio Mastersingers. This performance presents a unique collaboration with the newly inaugurated San Antonio Philharmonic, a long-awaited reuniting of singers and musicians!
The program will feature Mozart's Vesperae solennes de confessore K. 339. This setting of the Solemn Vespers is a sacred choral composition written in 1780 during the brief period when Mozat served as court organist to the Archbishop of Salzburg. Also featured is music by William Mathias, Elaine Hagenberg, Gabriel Faure and Shawn Kirchner.
