What a night of music this is gonna be.

First, Cheryl Beatty performs some original music.

Next up Pamela Gilmartin and Jeff Shewchuk will be performing some originals with a few Joni Mitchell covers thrown in.

After that, HIP HOP artist and award winning wordslinger Donna Michelle St. Bernard will join in to complete the ERGO SUM musical puzzle and she will lead us all to the end of the set and the end of the evening! RAP ON!

ABOUT THE PERFORMERS:

Pamela Gilmartin began writing songs and performing in grade school but for a few lessons here and there over the years she is self taught on piano and guitar.

When people ask her what her music sounds like she replies: "I folk like Joni but I rock like Jimi"!

She's heavily influenced by Classical and Jazz (her mom had a mega record collection and played music constantly and was a piano player herself). She's also influenced by all things Broadway (her dad was born and raised in Manhattan and she spent a lot of time in NYC growing up).

The song writing styles of artists like Beatles, Joni Mitchell, Carol King, James Taylor, Billy Joel, Susanne Vega, Shawn Colvin and Aimee Mann all helped to shape her style!
Pamela performs as a soloist but also as a member of Ergo Sum a musical trio featuring Pamela Gilmartin vocals and guitar, Donna-Michelle St. Bernard words and vocals and Jeff Shewchuk on bass!

Gilmartin's voice is angelic, but her lyrical subjects are often serious and slightly sad. The conflict between the beauty of her voice and the sadness of her lyrics makes for great music.

Cheryl Beatty is a Toronto folk circuit favourite! She's been writing and performing for over 20 years on various instruments and is a folk/blues force to behold. With soaring vocals and a penchant for the poetic, her soulful songs are about yearning and passion, loss and love, troubles and tides.

Donna Michelle St. Bernard is a DORA Award winning and Governor General nominated Canadian playwrite as well as a kick ass HIP HOP artist!

Jeff Shewchuk is a fierce yet elegant fretless bass player, guitar player and percussionist. And he sings too!
