An Evening with Scottie Miller
Join NAMI and Scottie Miller for an evening of music!
A lifetime spent on the road, stage and in the recording studio, Scottie's lyrics convey a cathartic approach to writing: If you can tell me how you do it, maybe I can find a better way to cope. He has toured with Rock N Roll Hall of Fame legend Bo Diddley, has been published by Hal Leonard, inducted three times into The Minnesota Blues Hall of Fame, and released 11 self-produced albums. He leads his own Scottie Miller Band, and has toured with four-time Grammy nominated singer Ruthie Foster since 2008, most recently appearing at Carnegie Hall and Austin City Limits.
An active, passionate member of the Twin Cities' recovery community working with other recovering addicts and alcoholics, Scottie continues to share his experience, strength and hope through his music, poetry and live performance.
"Local music stalwart SCOTTIE MILLER is first and foremost a pianist, with a grease-and-grits-slathered approach that suggests an affinity for New Orleans, Memphis, and swampy spots in between. His muscular vocals boast grit and firewater. - City Pages
