MAURICIO MARTINEZ
Mark Cortale presents the Broadway @ The Art House debut of MAURICIO MARTINEZ with BRIAN NASH at the piano.
MAURICIO MARTÍNEZ is a Mexican Emmy Winning actor and recording artist whose body of work spans film, television, albums, concerts, plays and musicals. Before making his stellar American crossover playing Cuban hit maker & producer Emilio Estefan in On Your Feet! The Story Of Emilio & Gloria Estefan on Broadway, Mauricio starred in the Mexico City productions of Disneys Beauty and the Beast, Saturday Night Fever, The Drowsy Chaperone, Sweet Charity, the premiere Spanish versions of Off Broadway's Songs From An Unmade Bed and Arthur Miller's A View From The Bridge, among others.
After starring on Broadway, he lead the first National Tour of On Your Feet! playing at such theaters as The Kennedy Center in Washington DC and The Pantages Theatre in Los Angeles. Mauricios regional theater credits include the world premiere of Andrew Lloyd Webbers musical memoir Unmasked at PaperMill Playhouse, Evita at Kansas City Repertory Theater and Rodgers & Hammersteins A Grand Night For Singing at the Goodspeed Opera House. He also starred in Children Of Salt at NYMF, with music by his friend & collaborator Jaime Lozano, with whom hes developing the musical Present Perfect and has recorded some of its highlights (available on all music streaming services).
Mauricio has also released two Latin pop albums available on iTunes & Spotify, is currently working on his first english album with Broadway Records and is featured in the album Songs By An Immigrant by Jaime Lozano.
A household name in his native Mexico, Mauricio can be seen in the two seasons of NBC Universos original Emmy Wining TV series El Vato on Netflix and will soon be featured in Peacocks Armas De Mujer. Other television credits include multiple Telenovelas in Univision and Telemundo like Señora Acero, Clap: El Lugar De Tus Sueños, Porque El Amor Manda and La Mujer Del Vendaval as well as the 40th Annual Kennedy Honors on CBS, The 2019 Gershwin Prize (performing next to artists like Patti Labelle, Cindy Lauper, Rita Moreno, Andy García and Gloria Estefan) and One Voice: The Songs We Share with the American Pops Orchestra on PBS.
Mauricio is currently working on the Broadway bound musical Joy, based on the life of Joy Mangano.
